Privacy Policy
Effective date: 2 September 2026 · Last updated: 26 September 2026
Via Avantgarde Suites ("we" or "us") operates viaavantgarde.com. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the rights available to you. Our suites are located in Salvador, Bahia, Brazil, and we are subject to Brazil's LGPD, as well as the GDPR for European visitors and the CCPA/CPRA for California residents.
1. Information We Collect
Information You Provide
This site has no contact form, no email links and no booking engine. If you message us through Airbnb, we receive what you choose to share there, typically your name, travel dates, number of guests and any special requests, and we use it only to answer you and coordinate your stay.
Bookings Through Airbnb
All stays are booked through Airbnb. When you book or send us a message there, Airbnb collects and processes your information under its own privacy policy; as the host, we receive only the reservation and message details Airbnb shares with us. Please review Airbnb's privacy policy.
Automatically Collected Data
Our hosting provider, Cloudflare, processes your IP address and request metadata to deliver the site and protect it from abuse (a security legitimate interest). With your consent, we also load a first-party page-view analytics beacon, operated for us on our own infrastructure (cavmir-backend.pages.dev), that counts page views so we can understand which pages are useful. It does not set advertising cookies, does not build cross-site profiles, and does not run until you accept cookies via the banner.
With the same consent, we also use Google Analytics 4 (measurement ID G-80P8HHMFS5), a service of Google LLC, to see which pages visitors use. It records the pages you view, how you reached the site, your device and browser type, and your approximate location (worked out from your IP address; Google Analytics does not store the IP address itself), and it sets first-party cookies named _ga and _ga_*. Google signals and ad personalisation are turned off, and it does not run until you accept cookies via the banner.
2. How We Use Your Information
- To respond to booking enquiries and coordinate reservations.
- To arrange arrival, check-in, and guest services.
- To maintain the security and performance of the site.
- With your consent, to measure aggregate page views and improve the site.
- To comply with legal and tax obligations.
We do not sell or rent your personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioural advertising. We share it only with the service providers essential to operating the site and your booking: our hosting provider (Cloudflare), Google LLC for Google Analytics (only if you accept analytics cookies), and Airbnb when you book or message us there, each under its own privacy policy and confidentiality obligations.
3. International Transfers
Cloudflare serves this site from a global network, and Google Analytics (if you accept it) is operated by Google LLC, so your data may be processed on servers outside Brazil or the EEA, including in the United States. Where personal data is transferred internationally, it is protected by appropriate safeguards such as the providers' standard contractual clauses.
4. Children's Privacy
This site is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from minors. If you believe a child has sent us personal data, message us through Airbnb (see section 11) and we will delete it.
5. California Residents (CCPA/CPRA)
If you are a California resident, you have the right to know what personal information we collect, to request access and deletion, to correct it, and to opt out of the "sale" or "sharing" of personal information. We do not sell or share your personal information, so there is nothing to opt out of, and we do not discriminate against you for exercising your rights. Message us through Airbnb (see section 11); we respond within 45 days.
6. European Visitors (GDPR)
If you are in the European Economic Area or the UK, you have the right to access, rectify, erase, or port your personal data, to restrict or object to its processing, and to withdraw consent at any time. Our lawful bases are the performance of a contract (or pre-contractual steps at your request) for booking enquiries, our legitimate interest in securing the site, and your consent for analytics. You may lodge a complaint with your national data protection authority. We respond within 30 days.
7. Brazilian Visitors (LGPD)
Under Brazil's Lei Geral de Proteção de Dados (LGPD), you have the right to confirm the existence of processing, access your data, correct it, anonymise, delete, or port it, obtain information about sharing, and revoke consent. You may also file a complaint with the ANPD. Message us through Airbnb (see section 11); we respond within 15 days.
8. Cookies & Consent
We use essential Cloudflare security cookies, and we store your cookie choice in your browser (a small cavConsent value) so we can remember it. Only after you select Accept on the banner do we load the first-party analytics beacon and Google Analytics described above; selecting Decline keeps both off. No advertising or cross-site tracking cookies are used. You can change your choice at any time by clearing this site's storage in your browser settings, which brings the banner back.
9. Data Retention
Booking correspondence is retained for up to 5 years for legal and tax record-keeping in Brazil. Security logs are kept only as long as needed to protect the site. Our own beacon keeps only aggregate page-view counts. Google Analytics keeps its data for up to 14 months and then deletes it automatically; it is not tied to your name or email address.
10. Changes
We may update this policy from time to time. The current version is always at viaavantgarde.com/privacy-policy/.
